With experience working primarily with Avid Media Composer, but also Premier Pro, Final Cut, Adobe Audition, Photoshop, DaVinci and After Effects, my editing experience is varied in platform and style.

My personal preference is for fast paced editing to music, though crafting the right mood and style with pacing and colour is also a passion of mine, allowing myself to create visually compelling, perfectly toned films from the footage filmed by the creative team.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

CIRQUE DE MUERTE

Producer (2017)

RTS Award winner.

For this project I worked as a producer, organizing shoots, actors and predominantly paperwork. This gave me a big booster to the on set experience I already had from university and allowed me to get hands on, assuring everything was completed to a high enough standard and especially to facilitate post-production, as from my own editing experience I learned how important organised and documented filming was.

PAPERCHASE: TIME

Editor (2017)

Nominated for the Kodak Nahemi Awards in association with Paperchase.

I helped create the idea for and personally edited an advert for the card company, Paperchase, working for the first time digitally editing with 16mm film. This taught me how to work with more than simply digital media, forcing me onto a much stricter time schedule and a new and exciting way of working. Most importantly, I learned how to effectively work to a professional brief. This was far from my own client work, as I also editied adverts and music videos for local businesses and bands. However, this was the most professional and high stakes example of this.

ALICE

Editor (2017)

Nominated for Cinefest Film Festival in multiple categories.

Working with a large cast and crew with big ambitions and creative talent, I worked closely with the project's director to assure his creative ideals were translated into a bold, colourful final project, giving me effective, creative communication skills. Creating a heavily stylised, mysterious piece was hugely fulfilling and challenged me personally to stretch the boundaries of my knowledge in the field.

Wnyard Hall Adverts

Editor (2017)

With the university, I worked as assistant editor and as one of the primary editors to edit three advertisement pieces for the roll out of new features for the public gardens and estates at Wnynard Hall. Working to a strict deadline, with other editors and a professional client was rewarding and stimulating. Though it wasn't the first time I had worked like this, with clients, to specific briefs, etc. it was the most professional example due to the large cast and the executive producers in charge of organizing production.

Hey Presto!

Editor & Designer (2016)

A multimedia children's piece about a boy that finds a real magic wand and accidentally makes his brother disappear.

While it never saw completion due to time and budget restraints, the interactive, app style format challenged me to think and edit creatively for a visually interesting, child friendly format using multiple online platforms such as prezi, adobe illustrator and avid.

CLEVELAND COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN

September 2016 - June 2018

For university, I studied at the leading art college in North East of England, giving me 3 years of real world editing experience creative films for clients, adverts and festivals on a national scale. I collaborated with many creative young people and studied many aspects of film, giving me experience working with predominantly small, fast paced crews and projects. I grew to be one of the go to editors due to efficient, time sensitive work and ability to easily grasp and recreate the creative ideas of others. I also learned to competently and consistently create highly regarded work on many different editing and effects programs, especially Avid and Premier. This allowed me to work to different creative specifics depending on a client's program preference or to simply work with the best program for the specific job. This is especially important when managing multiple facets of an edit, such as narrative editing, colour correction and sound mixing simultaneously, which was an incredibly important feature of working with small, student crews and something I grew to be very experienced with.
